It has long been recognized that nutrition is an important aspect of athlete development and it is a great idea to start good habits early! When consistent and correct attention is given to nutrition and hydration, before, during and after exercise, it will improve performance in athletes.
Good nutrition will help athletes to perform at a higher level and also assist in recovery of muscle and tissue after exercise. Another aspect which works in conjunction with nutrition and hydration is rest/downtime, which is just as important in helping recover body parts and mental (psycho social) pressures.
The following documents are offered for download in this section:
1. Nutrition Advice for young player – a condensed information booklet, offering tips on good (and bad) foods and appropriate times to eat. It also offers advice on keeping the body hydrated and how much (and what) to drink prior to, during and after exercising.
2. Nutrition Booklet – FIFA is a detailed informational booklet, created and endorsed by the world governing body for soccer (Football) – F.I.F.A. – Federation International Football Association - The information in here covers a much broader look at how athletes (specifically soccer players) can help themselves through correct nutrition and it covers a wide range of topics. (including nutrition for referees, young players, elite players etc)
