To RESCHEDULE or CANCEL a travel game or town game, please fill out the online form.
Games to be rescheduled due to religious holidays, tournament weekends, weather issues, field conflicts, or any other reason are processed in the same manner. This is the ONLY method to cancel or reschedule your game.
To postpone or pre-pone a scheduled BAYS travel team game, refer to the BAYS Rule Book available on the BAYS website for any special considerations and deadlines. We recommend that you read the BAYS rule book on this and other points, EACH season.
For Town games, both Coaches should agree to a date and time. Due to the limited number of fields, the best time and location for rescheduling a game is normally one of the teams' weekly practice slots.
Rescheduled makeup games take priority over practices. This means that another team may be displaced or "bumped" from a regularly scheduled practice. Although the bumped coach is normally contacted as part of the rescheduling process, the coaches playing the makeup game should confirm that the bumped coach is aware of the change, so that she or he may make other arrangements for practice (e.g. at the practice time and site used by one of the teams playing the makeup game).
Upon submission of the rescheduling form, e-mail is sent to the Field and Referee Schedulers. The Referee Scheduler will cancel the referee for the original game. The Field Scheduler will allocate a field slot and inform the submitter and the Referee Scheduler the details of time, place, and level for the rescheduled game, and a referee or referees will be assigned. Coaches can be confident every effort will be made to get referees for these make-up games. When either the field scheduler or referee scheduler is away, the submission e-mail is redirected to a backup. Note: this is not an instantaneous process! Consider providing several days notice at minimum -- a week or more is better -- to preserve the sanity and marriages of the schedulers. More lead time is a good thing. On very rare occasions when we can't get you a referee, you'll know about it beforehand. In the rare case where EVERYTHING goes wrong, play the game. Talk to the visiting coach. Offer him the whistle, or split duty by halves.
See you on the pitch!
